Welcome to the
Australian Wound Management Association
Western Australia
Australian Wound Management Association – Western Australian is committed to promoting wound management in the state of Western Australia.
The West Australian Wound Care Association Inc. (WAWCA) was formed in 1990 by a group of nurses who recognised the need to promote wound care management based on scientifically sound principles.
The association has been multidisciplinary since it’s inception. The common interest of the membership is to promote excellence in wound and pressure management with a focus on people with wounds.
In 1994 the Australian Wound Management Association (AWMA) was ratified. The AWMA(WA) is represented at the AWMA meetings by the State Representative who is also a member of the State Executive.
In 2011 West Australian Wound Care Association Inc. (WAWCA) became Australian Wound Management Association – Western Australia AWMA(WA) as part of the Australia wide restructure of Wound Management Associations.
Our Philosphy
