2016 AWMA (NSW) Inc. Educational Scholarships
WHAT are AWMA (NSW) Inc. educational scholarships?
AWMA (NSW) Inc. Educational Scholarships are financial awards available to AWMA (NSW) Inc. registered healthcare professional members (consecutive 2 years) and undergraduate healthcare students, that aim to support and promote continuing professional development in the speciality area of wound prevention and management.These scholarships may be used by the recipient for state, national or international conferences (as an attendee/delegate or presenter) or courses / seminars related to wound prevention and / or management.
These scholarships may cover all or part of the following:
- Registration fees for conferences
- Seminar / course fees (or part thereof )
- Travel expenses in relation to conference/seminar/course
- Accommodation expenses in relation to conference/seminar/course
2016 Education Scholarships:
1: State or National conference/course/seminar delegate/attendee
Four (4) scholarships of up to $500 each per financial year
2: State or National conference/course/seminar for undergraduate healthcare student delegate/attendee
Two (2) scholarships of up to $500 each per financial year
3: State or National conference ‘First time’ presenter
Two (2) scholarships of up to $1000 each per financial will be awarded to members who are first time presenters at a state or national Conference (oral or poster presentation). Applicant must be the person presenting or lead author of poster
4: State or National conference presenter
One (1) scholarship of up to $1000 per financial year will be awarded to members who present at a state or national Conference (oral or poster presentation). Applicant must be person presenting or lead author of poster
5: International conference delegate/attendee
One (1) scholarship of up to $3000 per financial year will be awarded to members who are attending an international conference
6: International conference presenter
One (1) scholarship of up to $3500 per financial year will be awarded to members who are presenting at an international Conference (oral/or poster, must be person presenting or lead author of poster)
Each year, AWMA (NSW) Inc. will advertise the type, number and monetary value of
AWMA (NSW)Inc. Educational Scholarships based on the financial budget taking into consideration both AWMA (NSW)Inc. membership numbers and available funds.

Regal Home Health 2016 Scholarship
'AWMA(NSW) Scholarship for Community Nurses'
CLOSING DATE 10 July 2020
Regal Home Health is awarding a $1,000 education scholarship for one Community Nurse. The scholarship is to provide the successful applicant with funds towards wound management education promoting excellence in clinical best practice.
Regal Home Health acknowledges the importance of education in the provision of exceptional clinical practice. For the purpose of this scholarship wound management education has been given top priority.
The applicant for this scholarship must be a Community Health Nurse who has shown a commitment to wound care education by being a member of the AWMA(NSW) and meet the selection criteria for application in courses on wound management.
The closing date for applications is 10th July 2016.
Regal Home Health will announce the successful scholarship recipient at the AWMA (NSW) state conference held on the Central Coast on the 14th and 15th August 2015.
