Biatain Literary Award
The Comfeel Literary Awards were launched in 1994 by the Australian Wound Management Association and Coloplast Australia. The intention of the awards is to acknowledge excellence of original manuscripts and encourage those working within the field of wound management to share their knowledge and expertise through publication of their material. From 2014 (for papers published in the journal in 2013) the awards are known as the Biatain Literary Awards.
There are three award categories which are offered annually. The first category is for the best scientific paper, the second for the best review article and third is for the best case study published within Wound Practice and Research (formerly Primary Intention) in each calendar year.
To be eligible to enter for these prestigious awards the author must be the first named author of the manuscript and while not an absolute requirement it is preferable that they be members of the Australian Wound Management Association. The work described within the paper must have been undertaken within Australasia. The members of the Editorial Board of Wound Practice and Research judge the manuscripts.
The winners of the Biatain Literary Awards will each receive $1000 to be used to further their endeavours in wound management. Coloplast have been steadfast supporters of these awards for many years and we are very grateful for their generous support.
