Congratulations to the winners of the 2008 PAUL HARTMANN / AWMA scholarships!

The second PAUL HARTMANN / AWMA Advanced Wound Care Course scholarships were recently awarded at the 7th National AWMA conference in Darwin, on Friday 9th May 2008.

Applications for the scholarships were received from around Australia. The Judging Panel was impressed with the standard of entries and followed a rigorous assessment process in choosing the finalists.

PAUL HARTMANN and AWMA would like to congratulate the following winners:

Naomi Higgins
Goolwa Medical Centre, South Australia

Debbie Geard
Primary Health Services, Tasmania

Penelope Fenn-Smith
Royal Hobart Hospital, Tasmania

Heather Manton
ACT Health Continuing Care

Amy Freeman Podiatrist
Royal Melbourne Hospital, Victoria

The winners will attend the HARTMANN sponsored HEMI Advanced Wound Care Course in 2009. The winning case studies will also be published in the upcoming issues of Wound Practice and Research (formerly Primary Intention).

PAUL HARTMANN Pty Ltd and the Australian Wound Management Association (AWMA) are delighted to have continued their collaboration in offering PAUL HARTMANN / AWMA Scholarships. The scholarships will be awarded to successful candidates at the forthcoming AWMA Conference.

In 2007, scholarship applications were sought from AWMA members. The scholarship required entrants to write a case study based on one of their patients who had a complex wound.

The AWMA judging panel will determine the successful applicants based on their ability to demonstrate the principles of best practice in modern wound care within their case studies, and their vision for sharing knowledge gained from the HEMI Advanced Wound Care Course with colleagues and patients in the workplace.

The scholarship will allow the successful candidate(s) to attend an up-coming Health Education and Management Innovations (HEMI) Advanced Wound Care Course. Further information about the HEMI course is available here.

Each scholarship presented will include registration costs for the intensive three-day course, all accommodation, travel and meal requirements. Funding of the scholarship has been provided by PAUL HARTMANN. The scholarship is valid for either the 2008 or 2009 course.

The successful applicants will be announced at the 7th Australian Wound Management Association Conference being held from 7th - 10th May, 2008 at the Darwin Entertainment Centre and Holiday Inn, Darwin.
