Q1. I have a concern about the wound care of a family member, friend or patient. Is AWMA able to provide advice on care or the right products to use?

A1. AWMA does not currently have the ability to provide information regarding specific individual wound care concerns.

Wound care often represents a series of complex issues and each individual’s circumstances and needs will differ. These issues can not rightly be addressed or resolved through an electronic medium such as this.

AWMA advocates that all wound management practices be based on best available evidence, and that wounds be managed by health care practitioners who are appropriately qualified and experienced.

The AWMA website contains a Links Page where further information regarding wound care and healing can be obtained.

AWMA does not have the ability to provide information on any other types of wound treatments at this the present time.

Q3. Is AWMA able to provide me with the latest information or evidence related to specific and/or general areas of Wound Management/Healing?

A3. Due to the vast numbers of clinical information requests received through the contact page, AWMA does not provide this service.

You are encouraged to review the current literature and evidence. This can be found using literature databases such as CINAHL or Medline. AWMA lists some very good on-line information sites which can found on the AWMA Links page.
