Wound Management FAQ

Clinical Information

Q. Does AWMA provide information on specific wound treatments or management of particular types of wounds?

A. AWMA does not currently have the ability to provide information on specific wound treatments or management of particular types of wounds. (Click here for suggested sources of information.)

If you require information on the prediction or prevention of pressure ulcers you are encouraged to purchase the AWMA Guidelines for the Prediction and Prevention of Pressure Ulcers. An order form for the guidelines is available on this site. Click here

Should you require any further information please contact AWMA on the follwing email address

Membership

Q. How do I become an AWMA member?

A. The best way to join AWMA is through your local state association. This will give you membership benefits for both your state as well as reciprocal membership to AWMA (inclusive of AWMA membership benefits). Each state has their own membership form on the AWMA Website which can be found at:

http://www.awma.com.au/state/state.php

Q. I have a query about my membership

A. AWMA does not directly manage individual membership to the Association, unless you are a direct member to AWMA. In most cases membership to AWMA is through a State Association with each state holding the responsibly for their own members.

If your membership to AWMA is through a State Association you will need to contact your State Membership Officer or Secretary (if you do not know the address you may be able to contact them through your relevant state association AWMA representative, info on the AWMA committee page ).

However if you are a direct member to AWMA you will need to contact the AWMA Membership Secretary: Mr Paul Philcox: E mail membership@awma.com.au

Journal : Wound Practice and Research (formally Primary Intention)

Q. How do I subscribe to Wound Practice and Research?

A. Wound Practice and Research can be subscribed to directly with subscription details located on the AWMA Website.

http://www.awma.com.au/journal/subscription.php

The other way to subscribe to Wound Practice and Research is to join the Australian Wound Management Association through a local state association (ie the ACT Wound Management Association). This will give you membership benefits for both your state as well as reciprocal membership to AWMA (inclusive of AWMA membership benefits). Each state has their own fee structure with a membership form on the AWMA Website which can be found at:

http://www.awma.com.au/state/state.php
