2008 COMFEEL LITERARY AWARD WINNERS

Comfeel Literary Awards recognise outstanding authorship and contribution to the AWMA Journal Wound Practice and Research (Formerly Primary Intention). For consideration in the Comfeel Literary Award the author must be a memebr of AWMA

The Comfeel Literary Awards for 2007 were awarded at the Darwin AWMA Conference in May. Each primary author of the winning article in the 3 categories received a $1,000 cheque and a certificate. The standards were very high and the winners have truly excelled with their work.

The winners are:

1. ORIGINAL RESEARCH ARTICLE

Gill Lewin: “Skin safe. Implementing clinical guidelines to prevent pressure ulcers in home care clients” Co-authors were Carville K, Newall N, Phillipson M, Smith J and Prentice J.

2. LITERATURE REVIEW/CLINIC PRACTICE

Jan Rice: “Unusual leg ulcers: a global phenomenon”

3. CASE STUDY

Samantha Cook: “Headlice: a precursor to group A Streptococcal infection in remote indigenous children”

Congratulations to the winners and many thanks to Coloplast for their ongoing support for these highly regarded awards.
