AWMA Fellowship Announcement (2005)

Background

The Australian Wound Management Association (AWMA) has established a number of awards that recognise service to the Association and wound management within Australia and the Asia/Pacific region, one of which is the AWMA Fellow.  Criteria for nominating an individual to be considered for an AWMA Fellowship have been developed.

Inaugural AWMA Fellowships will be awarded at the Association's Conference in Canberra in 2006. Thereafter Fellowships will be awarded on a biennial basis and presented in conjunction with biennial conferences.

Nomination Process

Nominations will be accepted from any person but not a self nomination.  A seconder to the nomination is not required.  Nominators will need to ensure that people put forward for nomination meet the stipulated criteria.  Nominees do not have to be members of AWMA.

Nominations should be forwarded the Secretary of the State or Territory Wound Management/Care Association by Friday 10th June 2005.  State Executives and/or Committees will review all nominations and forward suitable nominees to the AWMA Fellowship Subcommittee.  It is anticipated that 3-6 AWMA Fellowships will be awarded initially.  Up to five Fellowships may be awarded at each subsequent AWMA biennial conference.

The timelines for the Inaugural Fellowship are:

Friday 10th June 2005 Nominations to State/Territory Secretary
Thursday 30th June 2005 Selected nominations to be forwarded to AWMA
Wednesday 20th July 2005 Fellowship Subcommittee short list nominees
Saturday 19th November 2005 AWMA Committee decides Fellowships to be awarded
